Getting All of Your Ducks in a Row
February 8, 2022 - 6:00-7:30pm
This workshop will provide parents with a basic overview of the NH special education process, including the requirements that support parent involvement in the process. Knowledge of your rights is not enough, though. This session will also introduce parents to resources, tools and strategies they can use to become better organized and more effective (and yes, more confident) participants in their child’s IEP Team meetings.
Around the Special Education World in 1 Day
February 19, 2022 - 9:00am-2:30pm
The special education process works best when parents and educators are able to work in partnership to meet the needs of children with disabilities. This comprehensive seminar will provide participants with the tools they need to be better informed and more effective members of a child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) Team. Participants will receive a link to a handout packet to accompany the presentation.
Topics include:
· An overview of the NH special education law and process;
· The IEP, including tips to help prepare for and participate in IEP Team meetings; and
· Effective communication strategies, based on the parent/educator partnership model.
